Monday March 31st


Quiz day today! 

We will also be carrying on and looking at crimes against humanity, some questions to consider are:

  • What are crimes against humanity?
  • How has ultranationalism caused crimes against humanity?
  • What are some contemporary consequences of ultranationalism

Tomorrow I will be away and we will have a guest teacher in. The class will be continuing on with Schindler's List and updating the blog after during the last 15 minutes of class.

Thursday March 27th

Today we will be looking at the use of appeasement as a responses to ultranationalism!
Also the failures of the League of Nations - and the creation of the United Nations and Canada's role in creating Peace Keeping.

Quiz that was scheduled for tomorrow will be moved to Monday March 30th. Review this weekend ch 6 and class notes/presentations. We will continue with Schindler's List in tomorrows class.

Monday March 24th

Good Morning!

This week we will be continuing to look at Ultranationalism and examples of it. We will also start viewing the movie "Schindler's List". We will be viewing the movie over the course of approximately six days. The students will have a daily reflection to do electronically here on the class web site, details will be discussed in class.

There will also be a quiz on Friday March 28th in relation to the material covered on Ultranationalism.

Okay every one I am not here today, so you will have a sub in! Please follow along and help them out. You will be watching a video on the causes of WWI and making notes as you watch. After which you can compare and have a class discussion on the what you saw and heard as the causes for WWI.  You may also finish your Mind Maps .

Today will be your last day to work on and hand in your source analysis!
We will be continuing on with the next unit: To What Extent Should National Interests be Pursued?
We will start with looking at:

How are nationalism and national interests related?
How has a national interest shaped foreign policy?
How has foreign policy shaped nationalism?

Students should also consider creating a new Quizlet terms list under the heading social studies 20 unit #2
They can begin by adding the following terms:
